Oktoberfest Germania Park

Every year at the end of summer German Beer festivals occur almost every weekend in the area where I am from. We have a strong German heritage in Cincinnati, and we like to celebrate it with food and beer.
Germania Park has one of the best festivals in my opinion, the crowd is not too terrible and you can usually find a shady spot in the picnic area to enjoy your food and drinks.

Sorry I didn't snap a picture before dinner, we had the half chicken dinners which are to die for, they are practically the only reason I go to the festival. You get half a roasted chicken, a side of german potato salad, a side of hot slaw, and a slice of salted rye bread all for about $10, a pretty good deal. The chicken is one of the best you will ever have perfectly seasoned and juicy, they don't get much better.

We enjoyed the festivities with a group of friends drinking and listening to music.
We had a few friends get dressed up for the occasion in their traditional lederhosen they picked up on a trip to Germany, it's made of goat skin, gross!

As the evening winded down the DJ started to play and people started dancing. The older couple above were just to sweet to not snap a pic, and below is the group dancing. We did the chicken dance and of course the hokey pokey. It was a fantastic time, now to wait until next year.
